A.R.C Stonemasonry was engaged to perform professional stone cleaning on the West Torrens Cross of Sacrifice, located in the Memorial Gardens on Brooker Terrace, Hilton. This monument, dedicated on 15 April 1951 by His Excellency the Governor Sir Charles W. M. Our work focused on preserving the integrity and appearance of the memorial through effective heritage conservation practices, removing accumulated dirt, biological growth, and environmental pollutants to ensure its continued reverence and visibility to the public.
Scope of Work
Stone Cleaning: Utilised the ThermaTech system, a low-pressure, superheated water method, to gently remove decades of grime, moss, and biological growth from the stone surfaces of the West Torrens Cross of Sacrifice. A.R.C Stonemasonry
Preservation: Ensured that the cleaning process did not compromise the stone's integrity, thereby maintaining the memorial's historical value.
Environmental Responsibility: Employed a chemical-free cleaning process, aligning with best practices for heritage conservation.
