Robbie Burns Statue Restoration

Project Overview

A.R.C Stonemasonry was engaged to restore the Robbie Burns Statue, a significant monumental sculpture located in the forecourt of the State Library of South Australia on North Terrace, Adelaide. This statue, recognized as the first public sculpture in Adelaide, honors the life and work of the Scottish poet and lyricist Robert Burns.

Our work focused on heritage stone restoration, preserving the statue's integrity to ensure it remains a lasting tribute to Burns' legacy and a notable landmark in Adelaide's cultural landscape.

Scope of Work

Stone Restoration: Performed expert restoration work on the statue, repairing and restoring the hand-carved elements as required.

Hand-Carving Repairs: Carried out precise stone-carving work to replace or restore damaged features while respecting the statue’s original design.

Installation and Finishing: Ensured all restored elements were correctly fitted and integrated with the original statue.
